 At Living Well Therapy, Massage Therapy is a medical-based service. Every individual is treated specifically for their individual needs. Our purpose and care is to understand the individual and devise the session that looks at each person, on each visit, singularly.

A health history is conducted and discussed to encompass the individuals health in the present and the outcome that is desired. A plan is put in place that will assist immediate needs and enhance to goals for a future of good health.Massage Therapy can be a tool to enhance good health. It is greatly successful in combating stress, and stress is a base cause of many diseases.

Massage Therapy is the assessment and treatment of the soft tissues of the body, the connective tissue, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. It is the manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate, and augment physical function, or relieve pain. Massage Therapy stimulates or soothes the nervous system, relieves muscle tension, assists digestion and respiration, increases range of motion in restricted joints, relieves swelling or pain caused by injury or disease. Massage moves toxins thru the body which aids in lymphatic drainage. It gives the individual an awareness of themselves, induces a feeling of general well being and deep relaxation.

Relaxation Massage Relaxation Massage
 A one hour full-body massage. Starting laying on your back with the massage of the face, neck, shoulders, arms, legs and feet. Roll over to laying on your stomach and the back from neck to waistline, back of legs and feet again are massaged. Warm towels are applied to the back and feet at the close of the massage.

Deep Tissue Massage Deep Tissue Massage
 During the interview process you discuss your specific needs and area of concern. The massage is directed to those needs with client/therapist communication during the process, direct static pressure within your comfort level, and alternating heat with biofreeze applications. Sessions are followed up with advice regarding stretching and self-maintenance.

Sports Massage Sports Massage
 A vigorous approach to massage strokes and techniques for the purpose of preparing for activity or recovery from activity. This style of massage is best utilized during training for events. The session is modified to specific areas of need. The session is often combined with other forms of massage also. It is also an excellent way to boost recovery following strenuous activity.

Swedish Massage Swedish Massage
This is not a specific massage but incorporates the type of strokes that are used during massage. Swedish massage is incorporated into Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Sports, and most other types of sessions. The strokes include effleurage, petrissage, friction, vibration, and tapotement.

Lymph Massage Lymph Massage
This is a very gentle massage using feather strokes. The purpose is to stimulate your immune system. It is a useful massage following any type of surgery, as it helps reduce swelling. It is an excellent choice when you are feeling fatigued from having a cold or the flu. It is also useful to use this style as preventative, before you become ill.

Chair Massage Chair Massage
The use of a special chair that enable access to the back is used. The client sits down slanting forward with head in a face cradle. The slant of the chair enables comfort for the client and a good position for the therapist to work on the back and neck. This is a walk-up and sit-down easy massage to receive. The usual session is 10 minutes per person, though a longer time can be requested.

What to expect when you have a massage
During a table massage you will be fully draped, except for the area being treated. It is your choice whether or not you will be clothed, but massage works best on direct skin contact. Modifications can always be made to suit your comfort level, safety, and security needs. This is discussed and understood before the massage begins. During a Chair Massage you will stay fully clothed.
